Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is seeking an enthusiastic Lead Teacher for our RealArts Summer Camp, a five day a week day camp within our Visual and Performing Arts Department, which integrates art performance and art education. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with school-age children in a program emphasizing arts education. S/he will be responsible for supervising children ages 5 – 12 in a variety of arts and recreational activities. Lead Teachers will work with a creative team of experienced teachers and must be caring, energetic and attentive, with strong skills working with youth. Lead Teachers will be responsible for classroom management, creating and implementing games and activities, tracking attendance, facilitating conflict resolution, assisting with meals, and escorting children to scheduled programming, including arts classes, on-site swimming and field trips.  


  • Over 18 years old;
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in education, art or related field required;
  • Two years previous experience working with school-age children;
  • Must be prepared to go in the pool;
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills; and
  • Love working with youth.


  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • July 5 – August 17, and 20 hours of in-service training June 26-29
