Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS seeks a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to join its major gifts team to help grow and steward relationships with members of Broadway Cares’ Angels Circle. The major gifts coordinator will report directly to the senior development officer and work with the director of development and major gifts associate to strategize, coordinate, implement and expand BC/EFA’s major donor program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • manage portfolio and create moves management plan for approximately 350 donors giving at the $1,000 to $2,499 levels (“Front Mezzanine” donors of the Angels Circle)
  • create and manage $500-999 donor cultivation and stewardship program and develop moves management plan
  • coordinate and grow monthly giving program
  • coordinate the fundraising and activities of the NextGen Advocates young professionals fundraising council
  • manage the NextGen Network, a new giving society for young professionals making gifts in the $250+ and $500+ range

  • work with the development associate to oversee acknowledgments and database management for donor portfolio and prospects
  • work with major gifts team to edit Angels Circle donor listings and major supporter listings for online and print publications
  • oversee invitations and RSVPs for Red Bucket Follies, Easter Bonnet Competition and other Angels Circle stewardship events
  • write and coordinate annual State of the Agency mailing and other communications
  • work with major gifts team to plan Angels Circle stewardship events

  • participate in and work with members of the development team on donor relations at fundraising events
  • participate in facilitating audience appeals for two six-week fundraising periods
  • be available to participate in numerous evening and weekend events and fundraising initiatives


  • 2-3 years of individual giving and/or fundraising experience
  • commitment to the mission of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
  • Bachelor’s degree with nonprofit experience preferred
  • demonstrated ability to successfully maintain and utilize database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office
  • comfortable soliciting large gifts and coordinating the solicitation of gifts
  • ability to communicate effectively about HIV/AIDS, relevant issues relating to HIV/AIDS and its impact on our communities
  • superior communications skills, written and oral
  • understanding of and appreciation for theatre
  • extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail with effective follow-through
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • personal drive and initiative
  • willingness to assist, support and do whatever needs to be done at fundraising events and in the work environment
  • an affection for dogs
