The Executive Director works in partnership with the community's diverse groups and stakeholders toward dismantling racism and eliminating systemic barriers to opportunities and success. The Executive Director develops relationships that foster opportunities for dialogue in order to better counter the effects of racism on the community. The Executive Director understands systemic and institutional racial bias and their impacts on historically underserved and underrepresented communities. The Executive Director is deeply committed to racial equity, social justice and community building.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree required

Key compentencies include passion for the mission, vision, collaboration, persuasion, networking, fundraising, grant writing and grang manaagement.

Successful Experience in fund development, program development and grant writing preferred (The Executie Director will be responsible for successful ongoing fundraising shortly after being named)

Successful Experience in leading a nonprofit preferred

Successful Experience in racial trust building work preferred

Experience in diversity, equity and inclusion work in the nonprofit sector

Experience in community education, systemic change initiatives and equity

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledgeable about local government operations

Experience in key social media platforms

Effective in public speaking to diverse community groups

Ability to build effective personal relationships with diverse groups

Ability to establish strategy, set goals and manage priorities

Ability to work at the strategic and tactical level

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic vision and direction, operational oversight and guidance to forge the pathway for educating (training) our community to embrace anti-racism, recognize and eliminate barriers, promote healing and build racially equitable relationships within our community.

Provide training opportunities which address recognition of racial bias, discrimination, inequity in economic opportunities, education, health and human services, housing, the judicial system, etc.

Plan and direct a variety of community education and awareness raising events, to include the bi monthly breakfasts and Level I and Level II Trustbuilding training.

Prepare the annual plan of work and budget and track expenses.

Provide training and develop positive relationships with key members of the community, i.e., elected officials, clergy, civic leaders, corporate leaders etc., using skills to build consensus and trust.

OTHER SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject ot any strenuous pysical demands or dangerous conditions.
