Description

The Residency continues to grow and evolve as a world-class Hip-Hop centered performing arts intuition for youth of color from underrepresented backgrounds. In supporting this growth, The Residency is seeking a talented, self-directed program events manager with virtual and live performance events experience to join our Programs Team. As our Program Events Manager, you will be responsible for driving the planning, marketing, and execution process for our programs events, both online and in person in key program areas such as our annual summer intensive, 1-3 fundraising events, regular virtual programming, and several live performances. This role requires superior project management, time management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented and have hands-on experience in planning, producing, and promoting virtual events and live performances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a rolling 12-month marketing virtual/events calendar aligned to campaigns, key programs, and program objectives
  • Support the hiring of teaching artists, interns, and other program staff
  • Supervising responsibilities of teaching artists and interns during summer intensive, cyphers, and other programming throughout the year
  • Approve faculty bi-weekly pay and expense reimbursement requests
  • Manage program records 
  • Lead outreach and recruitment for annual summer intensive, including student application, interview, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Create comprehensive event project plans, conduct regular checkpoints, identify risks and challenges appropriately and ensure event is delivered on time and on budget
  • Manage org’s relationships and production to execute events at the highest level
  • Drive creation of live, recorded, and on-demand event content
  • Lead live event recordings, speaker preparations, session recording, and event moderation activities
  • Update website and help produce promotional materials as necessary
  • Lead planning and execution of fundraising efforts as needed
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations
  • Drive all event testing and quality control procedures before and during the events
  • Work with program team to create event emails, landing pages and demand generation activities to achieve event goals
  • Build processes for repeatability and scalability of events activities
  • Think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly improve the experience for event participants and attendees
  • Deliver post event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements
  • Drive and deliver best practice documents and process improvement documents

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to using a racial equity lens
  • Minimum 2 years of events marketing program management experience
  • Experience that demonstrates ability to create new, virtual event programs from the ground up
  • Project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver events on time and on budget
  • Experience delivering virtual events across time zones and geographies
  • Knowledge of industry tools including Sched, Zoom, Eventbrite, Salesforce, HTML and analytics packages
  • Digital marketing experience across email, search and social

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, technology or a relevant field of study.
  • Grace under pressure, and the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice
  • Positive, proactive and able to always exercise great judgment
  • Ability to work in a flexible and fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
