Through unprecedented collaboration, we catalyze business action and drive ambitious policy to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate an inclusive transition to a net-zero economy by 2050, at the latest.

The Impact Manager, Grants & Reporting will support the We Mean Business Coalition to demonstrate the impact of its grant portfolio. The role will require the appropriate balance of a data mindset with strong storytelling and communications skills to elicit insights from our re-grants portfolio that measure the progress of our work and share the story of our collective impact with our network and funders.

This position works primarily on MEL reporting, distilling insights and storytelling at the grants and donor level and reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a balance of communications skills and the ability to translate technical data into meaningful actionable insights that not only measure progress but inform the next iteration of grants work.



  • Lead and manage the grantee and donor reporting cycle including embedding key metrics in proposals, work plans, and summaries for the donor & grantee mid-term reports.
  • Develop and manage strategic communications documents for impact storytelling, including the We Mean Business Coalition annual report.
  • Work across the Secretariat, partners and donors to collaborate on and drive integration and harmonization of KPIs.
  • Coordinate development of internal metrics and tools for organizational and coalition success.
  • Facilitate opportunities for learning events across the Coalition.



  • Effective storytelling, written, presentation and oral communication skills to translate challenging and technical topics into actionable insights  
  • Familiarity with and a passion for addressing the intersections of business and social and environmental issues, including comfort working with corporates  
  • Technical expertise and comfort working with data models, data software and business intelligence tools  
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional role, balancing consultation with leadership and ownership skills to drive & harmonize actionable insights for partners and grant leads  


Education & Experience:

  • 7-10 years experience in impact measurement and MEL in impact organizations
  • Masters degree in research or relevant field preferred
  • Proven experience working directly with grants and reporting for foundations, governments, corporate sustainability and research institutes
  • Experience with climate, just transition or global development preferred
  • Experience balancing data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) with learning to distill key insights to inform programming
  • Experience managing multi stakeholder projects
  • Experience fostering a culture of learning to build MEL capacity and work creatively with partner MEL resources
