AmeriCorps Project POWER

AmeriCorps is a voluntary civil society program supported by the U.S. federal government, foundations, corporations, and other donors that engages adults in public service work with a goal of "helping others and meeting critical needs in the community.

AmeriCorps is a program that was created from the PeaceCorps that serves communities in the USA. More than 75,000 members join each year to tackle different issues the community is facing.

Project POWER AmeriCorps is a unique opportunity to serve your community and gain skills and experience.

Project POWER's main focus areas are on education and capacity building through schools and area nonprofits. Members can serve 3 months to a year in either a part time or full time capacity.

AmeriCorps members gain skills and experience to build your resume and join a nation-wide network of public and non profit service providers and make an impact on your community.

To be eligible to serve in an AmeriCorps program, an individual must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident
  • Be at least 17 years old, (if you are 17 years old, you should obtain/secure your guardian’s signature)
  • Submit to criminal background checks
  • Have a social security card
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
