Position: Reporting and Compliance Lead

The Reporting and Compliance Lead is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Director of Strategy and Operations. The Reporting and Compliance Lead is responsible for reviewing new grant and loan applications and agreements for compliance requirements; creating and following processes for tracking reporting and compliance requirements; analyzing data to support strategic organizational decision-making; alerting management when compliance criteria is in jeopardy; and completing and filing all documents and reports with applicable institutions in a timely manner.

Essential Duties

·        Review new agreements for compliance requirements and assess Accion’s ability to reasonably fulfill those requirements in conjunction with all involved departments

·        Maintain the systems Accion needs to efficiently and effectively track data and report on outputs and outcomes

·        Maintain tracking/recordkeeping and documentation mechanism for all executed agreements and reporting requirements

·        Generate reports required by third parties and internal partners, ensuring both accuracy and timeliness

·        Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines responsible for the accurate and timely collection of data needed for compliance requirements

·        Analyze data to provide insightful and accurate trends, report concerns, and celebrate successes

·        Remain current with industry best practices

Additional Responsibilities

·        Manage compliance for the organization’s grant and loan programs by executing sound policies, procedures, and reporting in a timely and efficient manner

·        Ensure compliance requirements are being met by collaborating with other departments responsible for both the work covered by executed agreements and the tracking of that work; remain current on best practices

·        Review pending agreements for feasible compliance reliability, recommend solutions when requests are outside of the organization’s scope or capability

·        Compile data from all necessary sources; analyze and monitor the data to ensure compliance, track organizational metrics, and ensure the organization is on track to meet strategic milestones

·        Collaborate with other departments on the creation and production of reports demonstrating programmatic outcomes

·        Research regulations; develop and execute new processes as required

·        Stay abreast of programmatic and market data to support Accion’s mission and work

·        Perform other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise

·        Contribute to a net surplus annually

The Data and Compliance Lead should have a:

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance work at a comparable nonprofit or financial institution

·        Knowledge of compliance auditing and best practices

·        High level of proficiency using Excel and end-user reporting toolsets

·        Proven track record of attending to detail, tracking, analyzing and reporting data and meeting deadlines

·        Collaborative workstyle that thrive in a fast-paced environment with a customer service focus

·        Clear writing style and experience with government grant 

Salary and Benefits Information

The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 commensurate with experience and skillset.
