Description of the Greater Boston Latino Network (GBLN):

The Greater Boston Latino Network (GBLN) is a network of Latino-led organizations in the Greater Boston area that have come together to strengthen the collective voice of the Latino community, work collaboratively to share information and ideas, and develop innovative strategies that will address barriers to increased Latino leadership in the Greater Boston community created by institutional and structural racism. The Network seeks to contract a coordinator to support the Network in pushing forth policies and practices across the sectors including corporations, city and state government and philanthropy that lead to greater representation of Latinos in leadership and decision-making positions. The Coordinator also will support the Network in advocating for increases in the availability of dollars specifically for Latino-led community-based organizations in Greater Boston, and in the development of research-based reports on the state of Latinos in Boston. The Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of Network meetings, oversight and monitoring of the Network’s research project(s) and expected outcomes and deliverables for the Network.

Projected Hours: Approximately 10 hours/week

Specific Duties and Deliverables:

1. Facilitation and coordination of monthly Network meetings

A. Development of monthly meeting agenda in collaboration with the Network

Steering Committee

B. Facilitate monthly Network meetings including all logistics and follow up

steps, as well as document meeting minutes and agreements

2. Coordination of activities and action steps resulting from Network meetings

A. Coordinate and provide support for working committees including meeting

schedules, activities, and action plan

B. Communicate regularly with Network members including sharing of

activities, meetings, plans, information, etc.

C. Support the development of strategic alliances

3. Liaison between Research team and Network Committees

A. Support the Network’s Research Committee in its oversight of the

development of report(s)

B. Coordinate dissemination of report(s)

C. Oversee maintenance of website to serve as repository of Latinos interested

in serving on boards, commission, task forces, etc.

Expected Skills and Experience:

1. Bilingual in Spanish and English (speak, write, and read with fluency)

2. Experience with coordination of projects, project management, use of

electronic social media and technology program (Microsoft Suite, Excel, word, etc.)

3. Strong facilitation skills

4. Experience working with a network

5. Knowledge of Latino community and its challenges, opportunities and assets

6. Interpersonal and Cultural sensitivity

7. Excellent writing and oral communication skills, including attention to detail

and clarity of expression
