The Decorative Arts Trust, a non-profit arts organization located in Media, PA, is seeking a full-time Communications Coordinator, who will work closely with the Executive Director and Program and Membership Coordinators to ensure the seamless management of all print and digital communications.


Job Responsibilities

The Communications Coordinator oversees all print and digital communications generated by the Trust and serves as the primary liaison with our graphic designer and web programmer in the production, development, and upkeep of:

·      Website

·      Social Media

·      E-communications

·      Magazine

·      Blog

·      Advertising


Working in conjunction with the Executive Director, the Communications Coordinator assists with:

·      Fundraising solicitations

·      Promoting the Emerging Scholars Program


Working in conjunction with the Membership Coordinator, the Communications Coordinator assists with:

·      Annual giving solicitations

·      Gift acknowledgements

·      Liaison with the Membership & Marketing Committee of the Board of Governors


Working in conjunction with the Programming Coordinator, the Communications Coordinator:

·      Event brochures and registration materials

·      Pre- and post-program content for participants


Necessary skills

·      Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred; an arts-related field is a plus

·      2 years of experience in communications; an arts-related organization is a plus

·      Highly organized with strong personal initiative

·      Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to edit other’s writing

·      Strong knowledge of social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

·      Demonstrated ability to:

o  Communicate effectively through a variety of methods, both print and digital

o  Craft compelling narratives

o  Prioritize to meet deadlines

o  Work independently and as well as collaboratively with a team

o  Manage multiple tasks while adapting to an evolving calendar

·      Detailed oriented approach to managing projects

·      Ability to travel to attend domestic events

·      Computer program experience:

o  Microsoft Office

o  Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

o  Mail Chimp or a similar e-communications tool

o  Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite

o  WordPress
