The Development Data Associate is responsible for administering the fundraising database and other information related operations to maximize the effectiveness of fundraising activities. S/he plays a critical support role in the Resource Development team to raise $50M+ by 2022 as part of the Change Starts Here Campaign. Other campaigns will follow.

The Development Data Associate processes and records all philanthropic gifts and ensures that the gifts are verified and accurately recorded in the donor database and reconciled with the Finance Department. S/he prepares gift acknowledgment letters utilizing templates and coordinates customizations before mailing. S/he creates queries and reports to meet the needs of the fundraising team and to analyze the effectiveness of fundraising activities.

The Development Data Associate creates and administers online giving and registration forms. S/he maintains and updates all fundraising-related records including constituents, gifts, campaigns, funds, appeals, and events. S/he identifies inefficiencies of the database and develops and implements projects for improvement. S/he administers database access and configurations; resolves database performance issues; works closely with vendors to perform system improvements and troubleshooting; and provides training for team members.

The Development Data Associate reports to the Philanthropy Operations Manager and works closely with the entire Resource Development team. Other internal relationships include the Office of the President, Finance, and several business-facing departments.


  • One or more years of experience in database administration, preferably the Raiser’s Edge

  • Experience managing small projects, performing queries, and using pivot tables

  • Understanding of restricted versus unrestricted funds

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

  • Proactive in problem-solving and identifying ways to improve processes and systems

  • Deadline oriented with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and work on multiple projects

  • Passionate about continuous learning and professional development


  • Bachelor’s Degree
