Executive Director:

Position Summary: The Executive Director for the Teen Action and Support Center is responsible for the overall strategic vision, administration, fundraising, and marketing of the Center and its programs. This position is hired by the Board of Directors and report to the Chairman of the Board and the executive committee.

Board Governance

works with Board in order to achieve TASC’s mission

Responsible for leading TASC in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board

Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to properly function and make informed decisions

Organization Mission and Strategy

Responsible for implementation of TASC’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission

Responsible for strategic planning in partnership with the Board to ensure that TASC can successfully fulfill its mission into the future

Responsible for the enhancement of TASC’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations

Administration and Communication

Represent, publish, and communicate programs and accomplishments of TASC to  organizations and the public

Guide the implementation of comprehensive marketing and public relations strategies

Administration

Make job descriptions

Make staffing and salary decisions

manage insurance best practices and standards

follow Federal and State guidelines for employment practices

Organizational Operations

Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, program evaluation, and oversee direction and expansion of all programs

Build partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with funders and community leaders at each expansion site

Lead, coach, and develop Staff   

develop programs as part of the overall mission of TASC

work directly with students if needed

conduct bi-weekly staff meetings

provide routine evaluations for staff and set goals with staff

Financial Performance and Viabililty

Serve as the chief fundraiser

Oversee development and implementation of comprehensive development plan

Grant Management

Actively search for new grants that would suit TASC (local, corporate, foundation, etc.)

Create a Grant Calendar - when they are available, submission dates, requirements, etc.

Follow up with grant requirements after the grant has been received

Keep records and flag dates for future applications.

Grow and maintain donor base in partnership with Development Manager

meet with individual and corporate donors regularly

make asks of companies and individuals and maintain regular contact

oversee thank you notes and make sure they are done in a timely manner

Work with administrative director and development manager to keep database up to date with new contacts

Oversee donor management system

Oversee planning and execution of charity events and fundraisers in partnership with Development Manager and committees

Budgeting and Finance

Maintain best practices for financial reporting working with Accountant and Treasurer

Review monthly reconciliations of accounts payable and receivable and bank accounts

Oversee incoming donations, outgoing payments, asset management and depreciation

Work with Board Treasurer and Accountant to develop and maintain financial policies and controls

Maintain and present budget and financial position of TASC

Communicate budgets to Staff, oversee purchasing, and work with Board and Treasurer to ensure appropriate stewardship of TASC’s funds

Oversee accountant and bookkeeping duties for TASC

Purchase supplies and equipment

Ensure receivables are collected promptly

Record receipts and make deposits

Provide information to external accountant for reviews and taxes

Calculate and report variances from the budget

Oversee payroll and ensure accuracy

Work closely with accountant and sign off on all monthly reports

Approve and sign checks and purchases

Skills, Abilities, and Education:

Passion for teenagers and their families

Desire to serve the underserved

Strong Organizational skills

Demonstrated Public speaking and communication skills

Efficient use of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software   

Ability to establish a collaborative and empowering team environment

Strong leadership and training skills

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Marketing and Fundraising experience

Belief that teens are amazing and should be stewarded well

Positive way of speaking about about teens
