The Union County Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaboration among existing public and private agencies in Union County, NJ, to provide support, services and resources for victims of domestic violence, with the goal of making these services more accessible and available. The collaboration represents a true integration of services that is fully client-centered and meets the needs of clients in a holistic manner and in a single location.  The FJC is one component of the YWCA Union County which provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The FJC Director will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the FJC, including but not limited to the following duties:

 ·        Managing/directing operations of the FJC, including adherence to policies and procedures of the FJC as well as YWCA Union County.

·        Convening and directing a Steering Committee which will assist in planning and overseeing the strategic planning and oversight of the FJC. The FJC Director along with the YWCA CEO will be part of the Steering Committee.

·        Facilitating a monthly partner meeting which will assist in the overall coordination of services provided by FJC staff and on and offsite partners; Review updates and trends in the community, among other pertinent topics.

·        Facilitating a monthly case review among YWCA/FJC staff and community partners involved in the oversight of a client’s case for the purpose of coordination of services and for follow up recommendations.

·        Directing client services, including providing direct service as needed, ensuring quality and trauma-focused and client- centered services are consistently provided.

·        Coordinating services as needed with other YWCA programs, ensuring confidentiality, appropriate information sharing, and insuring quality control.

·        Manage client service data to insure adequate reporting to all funding and partner agencies.

·        Coordinating and managing services provided by all FJC partner agencies to ensure effective, compassionate service to FJC clients and continually seeking best practices for client services and to resolve conflicts as they may arise among participating partners.

·        Maintaining, managing and reporting on FJC fiscal matters and budgets in accordance with requirements of YWCA and the County of Union.

·        Serving as primary liaison for all participating partners and FJC stakeholders.

·        Recruiting, training and supervising personnel, interns and volunteers for the FJC and ensuring their quality and competence.

·        Maintaining strong and positive relationships among participating partners and other potential partners in the community, as well as all YWCA program components.

·        Promoting the FJC locally and at the state level to build community awareness.

·        Reviewing and evaluating services, operations and client experiences continually to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.

·        Working with YWCA Development Department to secure additional funding as needed to sustain the work of the FJC.

·        Attending and participating in DV Working Group, NJ FJC Collaborative, and other county collaborative gatherings, and YWCA staff and management meetings.

·        Provide training on DV to community agencies and through 40-hour training.

·        Be knowledgeable of funding sources, program budgets and grant expectations and ensure the proper management and implementation of each.

·        Other duties and responsibilities as needed and directed by the Executive Director

Qualifications

 

·        Bachelor's degree in a related field required; higher education strongly preferred including MSW, LPC, MBA, or JD.

·        Minimum of five years management/supervisory experience is required, preferably in domestic violence or human services field.

·        Documented experience working in the field of domestic violence, including but not limited to knowledge of proposed and current laws affecting domestic abuse victims and perpetrators is ideal.

·        Must have knowledge of the Family Justice Center movement and the purpose of this model of service delivery.

·        Must be an effective communicator and team-builder, possessing the interpersonal and collaborative skills needed to build and foster effective relationships with partner agencies. Position also includes extensive public-speaking and media exposure. Ideal candidate should be well versed in these arenas.

·        Some experience managing budgets and fiscal reports.

·        Knowledge and experience working in Union County NJ strongly preferred.

Special Requirements

 

·        The candidate must submit to and pass a criminal background check, CARI check, drug/alcohol screen and DV registry check.

·        The candidate must be prepared to travel throughout Union County to promote and support the FJC.
