Position Summary:

The Events and Engagement Manager will work within the within the Development Department to manage and execute events and sponsorships, building community engagement and organization support. Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the EEM will be responsible for the day-to-day of Events and Sponsorships Programs, as well as ensuring our partners and sponsors increase and sustain engagement with our organization. In addition to regular tasks, the EEM will help with all special projects, outreach and campaigns as needed.

Full Responsibilities:

·       Implement DD’s fundraising plans and strategies for events, engagement, and sponsorships

·       Execute mission-driven events (4+ major events per year), including all logistics; vendor/client interactions; ticket sales; event management; project management; volunteer management; and coordination between team members and departments that support the fundraising, programming and communications elements

·       Ensure events meet mission and fundraising goals in addition to providing an excellent experience for attendees – meeting very high standards of quality

·       Solicit, steward, renew and fulfill corporate sponsorships

·       Create, sustain and promote engagement opportunities for sponsors/partners at events and in our client-facing programs

·       Represent Business Impact NW in the community for the purpose of creating and sustaining relationships

·       Coordinate closely with the Strategic Partnership Officer to support the implementation of their partnership plan

·       Manage CRM database and data entry related to events/outreach, including tracking contacts, engagement, ticketing, and sponsorships

·       Assist DD in working with the Executive Team and all department heads to meet annual development fundraising goals

·       Additional tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications

·       BA/A.A. or Equivalent Professional Experience of 4 years in this field

·       4-5 years of experience in this or related field

·       Reside in the Seattle metropolitan area

·       Strong communication and networking skills

·       Experience with nonprofit work is a plus, especially in a fundraising and/or communications department


Success Factors:

·       Strong communication and networking skills

·       Comfort, confidence and experience working with all types of people to achieve goals, from high-profile, corporate and government partners to individuals and business owners from diverse communities, backgrounds, and life experiences.

·       Specific experience soliciting sponsorships and creating new connections OR successful sales experience a plus

·       Knowledge and experience with CRMs, especially Salesforce or eTapestry, and Microsoft Office

·       Strong experience in and understanding of event planning, coordination, logistics, and execution

·       Strong integrity and accountability

·       Strong project management skills; highly organized with excellent attention to detail

·       Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects and deadlines

·       Enjoyment of working with diverse work styles and staff

·       Willingness to learn new skills and technologies

·       Willingness to roll up sleeves, do the work, solve problems, and have fun


Schedule & Location:

•     40 hours per week, 8:30am-5pm

•     1437 S Jackson Street, Seattle WA 98144

•     Working mostly or semi-remotely in WA state can be accommodated (even after COVID restriction are lifted)

Compensation Package:

Salary of $50,000-$54,000, Full Time, DOE.
