Street Sense Media ( seeks an experienced development and fund raising consultant (minimum 3-5 years of experience) to develop and implement a wide range of strategies to increase revenue from individuals, foundations and corporations. The person would thoroughly familiarize themselves with the organization's history and current programming. On average, the person would work 20 hours per week.

Work would focus on the following:


  • Fully embrace and utilize Sales Force for all interactions with donors (individuals, foundations, corporate)
  • Using Sales Force, analyze top performing donors, lapsed donors, and new donors to inform donor strategies 


  • Cultivate ongoing relationships between donors, prospective donors and Street Sense Media to build a robust donor base. Develop and execute stewardship and solicitation strategies for assigned prospects.
  • Develop strategies to attract new major gift donors and raise visibility for Street Sense Media. 
  • Work with program staff and executive director to plan and conduct visits, presentations, and events. Collaborate with staff and volunteers working on the annual celebration and other events. 
  • Produce proposals, reports and other donor materials as needed. 
  • Monitor donor revenues and ensure all assigned donors are solicited for annual commitments, as well as major, multi-year commitments. Work with executive director to assess results and project future portfolio goals and activities.
  • Develop and implement creative appreciation/donor acknowledgement strategies


  • Research and prioritize prospects, create a proposal calendar, develop cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Write and edit proposals, budgets and reports ensuring compliance with foundation interests and guidelines. 
  • Make regular cultivation and solicitation visits and calls to foundation prospects, coordinating with executive director and program staff as necessary. Coordinate preparation of research and briefing materials for own visits, or for executive director, program staff, board or other volunteer.


  • Identify corporation prospects and conduct research to determine interest and giving potential.
  • Work with Board, Development Task Force and other volunteers to create strategies for cultivating relationships.
  • Produce proposals, reports and other donor materials as needed.
