Job Summary:

The Finance Lead will work closely with the COO & CFO in determining long-term financial goals and developing strategies to achieve the financial objectives of TPF. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative person and will support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting.

The Finance Lead will manage the organization’s financial operations, including oversight of accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, production of financial statements and reports, and advisement of the Finance Committee on financial decisions. The Finance Lead is responsible for monitoring and maintaining internal controls, while overseeing financial systems and related compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

·     Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial reports

·     Prepare organization-wide financial analysis, annual budget, forecasting and other analysis required, monitor adherence to budget, provide feedback to management and Board of Directors

·     Data entry into accounting system and integrity of accounting system data

·     Assure timely payment to vendors through data entry of vouchers and weekly check processing

·     Oversee tax filings, audits, and reports and ensure the timely submission of all filings

·     Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner

·     Develop, review, and recommend updates to the organization’s financial policies and procedures and assure their implementation

·     Other duties as assigned by the COO&CFO

Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field required

·     4+ years relevant work experience in a similar role; experience in nonprofit accounting required (e.g. revenue recognition, grants management, fund accounting, 990 reporting)

·     Experience with Fund EZ accounting system strongly preferred

·     Working knowledge of GAAP, audits, and other regulatory requirements in the financial field

·     The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area

·     Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with -- programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds

·     The ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment

·     Technology savvy

·     A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making

·     Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

·     A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment

·     Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of TPF
