We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to perform activities including supervision of operations employee’s, installing, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems, general plumbing, mechanical work and facilities management.
Reports directly and receives instructions from Ops Director regarding daily maintenance operations and various projects throughout the facility.
Supervise a crew of 12 across all operations disciplines.
Takes daily equipment readings and maintains a log book of all maintenance and corrective actions within the department.
Performs/ oversees routine and preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Operations Director
Responds to emergency issues and troubleshoots problems.
Performs repairs on facilities various systems as necessary.
Manage Installs, maintenance, and repairs HVAC systems, including vets, ducts, heating and air conditioning units, and other components of HVAC systems.
Participates as a member of the Museum firefighting team.
Maintains ship, pier and other Museum facilities, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
Participates in marine and flight operations, maintenance and transportation of vessels, barges, and aircraft including tank inspections, ship compartment inspections, line handling and aircraft movement.
Performs internal construction projects ensuring their completion according to specifications, schedules, budgets and contractual commitments.
Responds to all facility emergencies and assists other Operations personnel with timely, cost effective resolutions or temporary set-ups.
Assists in general technical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance duties as required by management.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
A successful candidate will have:
4 year degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 or more year’s supervisory experience or equivalent training and education.
Basic knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all package, split, window, and dual temperature AC systems (including piping and electrical).
Basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of absorption refrigeration equipment, pumps, air handling equipment and related electrical and control systems, heavy equipment operations, small engine repair.
welding, soldering, brazing experience
Must have strong mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of building systems ad equipment
Ability to read construction plans and work orders and execute projects as directed
Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary.
Holds a current Universal CFC license or ability to obtain.
