Administrative Assistant

This is an entry-level administrative position that will require a highly organized approach that is deadline-driven.  The candidate must have strong writing skills, clear communication skills, strong collaboration skills, and a desire to work within a team environment that focuses on racial equity.  The candidate will report to the Associate Director and will be an important liaison for internal ABC communication and external outreach.  This candidate will work closely with the Graduate Research Intern/Community Organizer to execute outreach needs for research projects.  This candidate will also provide the necessary support to the lead ABC Executive Administrator, particularly as it relates to governmental communication and scheduling needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule appointments and maintain internal calendar and tracking systems for social media, general inquiries, government relations, and calendars for Director and Associate Director
  • Creates communication packets for social media, publications, board meetings, and research presentations
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on research operations
  • Work with the Associate Director to maintain individual project calendars
  • Oversees deadline calendar management to ensure the research department and grant writers have application materials completed on a timely basis
  • Maintains Excel sheets of potential grant opportunities, public officials, foundation officers, etc.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by the Director and Associate Director of Rising Tides
  • Expense tracking
  • Collaborates with the research team on logistical and administrative needs for specific projects
