Summary/Position Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing the annual budget and assisting the CFO in presenting it to the Finance Committee and Board, monthly reporting and financial analysis, forecasts and variance analysis of Panthera’s Operations. While working with Corporate, this position will be responsible for monthly and quarterly performance analysis, preparation and review of annual budget and long-term plans as well as quarterly forecasting on a grant year basis AND a calendar year basis. The Manager will work on ad hoc strategic and financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.

The key responsibility for this position is to prepare, manage and improve the analysis and reporting processes for Panthera’s business units ensuring overall accuracy of the data.

Principal responsibilities and duties

  • Performing analysis of operating and financial results against budget and forecast targets and prior period results for inclusion in the management reports
  • Participating in the development of the quarterly forecasts, developing analyses and projections which are used to complete the quarterly forecast as well as assessment of performance and recommended course of action, if needed, to senior management
  • Reviewing and coordinating all aspects of the regions’ budget, forecast, and cost analysis with the business teams
  • Preparing routine and special reports for senior management, serving as liaison between the business unit and other corporate disciplines as necessary
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of the Company’s reporting tool to allow timely and accurate reporting and analysis
  • Develop ad hoc analysis and reports for business managers, providing information for historical, current and future financial and statistical data and performing assigned special projects and analysis as needed by management
  • Work to continuously improve existing analysis and reporting to drive insight and assist business growth

Qualifications and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in finance and/or accounting. advanced degree preferred
  • Four to seven years of experience in budget preparation and financial analysis with nonprofit experience preferred
  • Significant experience with third party grants and grant accounting
  • Full understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work objectively and complete responsibilities with little supervision, yet work well in team-oriented culture
  • Ability to resolve complex finance issues
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • High level of motivation and aptitude for problem solving, with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as this position requires significant interface with outside stakeholders and the senior management team
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint user is preferred
