POSITION TITLE: Development Assistant

REPORTS TO: Director of Development

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the Development Department in achieving its strategic goals by providing administrative support, oversee parent volunteers, and general office assistance.

 SUPERVISES: N/A                 

FTE / FLSA Status: Full time, Non-Exempt  

MISSION: As expressions of God’s healing love, witnessed through the ministry of Jesus, we are steadfast in serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.         

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1.     Input and update constituent records in Raiser’s Edge database.

2.     Record annual fund recurring gifts and prepare gift recognition letters.

3.     Prepare and deposit all monies received by the Department.

4.     Prepare check requisition requests and obtain required signatures as necessary.

5.     Process all credit card deposits and follow up on failed transactions with constituents.

6.     Assist Department in planning and executing key events for Providence High School, including Gala, donor receptions, alumni events, etc.

7.     Assist with list generation, mail merges, and management for mass mailings as needed by the department including:  Vista magazine, Providence Fund, and events, etc.

8.     Assist Development Department team with overall fundraising and alumni efforts.

9.     Gala responsibilities:

a.     Oversee and assist Gala Parent Committee.

b.     Solicit businesses and community members for Gala Auction donations.

c.      Record and track Gala donations especially items donated by parents for service hours

d.     Organize and execute auction for Gala Fundraiser

10. Coordinate and oversee parent volunteers for Development projects.

11. Prepare E-Bulletin communications for Department.              

12. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Development.

13. Occasional evening and weekend work.

 

DESIRED EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE: 

1.     Strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.

2.     Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

3.     A high level of confidentiality and discretion required.

4.     Team player with the ability to collaborate with individuals within and outside the department.

5.     Development experience and familiarity with fundraising and development concepts preferred but not required.

6.     Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

7.     Knowledge of fundraising and database software (Raiser’s Edge) is preferred.
