SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Assistant Director for Case Coordination is a new position that will lead a newly created unit within the restructured Legal, Organizing, & Advocacy Department tasked with enhancing case coordination across NMIC through agency-wide universal client screening and service navigation. The Assistant Director will manage existing case coordination programs, create processes to facilitate screening and case coordination within the unit and across other NMIC programs, and support agency-wide staff engagement with case coordination through training and other resources.  





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Program Management  

·        Manage, with the support of three program managers, five case management units (benefits access, domestic violence, mental health, community health, and general case management) including managing systems to ensure appropriate referrals between other NMIC staff and these programs. 

·        Oversee reception and outreach staff to ensure they effectively engage prospective and existing clients at their first point of contact with the agency.  

 

Systems Development & Implementation 

·        Develop and implement a universal screening tool for all NMIC clients.  

·        Build a referral database to support cross referrals that address client needs, both internally and externally.  

·        Enhance existing referral and follow up protocols to maximize referral effectiveness while protecting confidentiality.  

 

Organizational Change 

·        Manage outreach to existing NMIC staff to define priorities for, and barriers to, enhanced case coordination.  

·        Ensure staff agency-wide effectively engage in enhanced case coordination through training and coaching.  

 

Additional related responsibilities may be assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Licensed social worker (LMSW/LCSW) or mental health counselor (LMHC) status required.

·        Proven experience with program management, especially with new program development and organizational change.

·        Demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low and moderate-income families.

·        Deep understanding of client-centered and trauma informed service delivery strongly preferred.

·        Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

·        Strong ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including clients, staff, senior management, partner agencies, and funders.

·        Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

·        Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
