Engagement Manager

We are seeking a talented, communicator to join our team and promote Apprentice Learning's innovative program and highlight our successes to increase our visibility with business partners, donors, and supporters. The Engagement Manager position plays a cross-functional role promoting our work as a member of the Senior Leadership team. The ideal candidate is an individual with experience and knowledge who is ready to help lead our organization into the next phase of growth.

Organizational Description

Apprentice Learning provides real-world work experiences for under-resourced middle schoolers in Boston. At such a critical period in a young person’s life, these are the opportunities that ignite growth and change: sparking passions, giving a sense of purpose to the present, and more importantly, to a young person’s future. Our aim is to launch dreams and plans for our city’s youth that lead to success in high school, college and career. Specific Responsibilities

Elevate Apprentice Learning’s presence in corporate, nonprofit and educational landscapes and leverage these relationships to raise vital funds for their organization.

• Cultivate relationships with supporting organizations that can introduce work site partners to our program.
• Manage funding opportunities including events, donor cultivation, and corporate sponsorships.
• Implement and shape our message through marketing, data management and presentation, and media presence.
• Direct marketing and promotion including print, media, and special events in collaboration with marketing and media consulting staff.
• Connect the organization broadly to community resources, networks, and work collaboratively to advance Apprentice Learning’s organizational reach.

Essential Skills for Success

 The Engagement Manager must have a strong written and verbal communication skills that inspire and motivate new audiences to be supporters and partners. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in development and communications. Additional skills include:

• Commitment to Apprentice Learning's mission to serve urban young people and advance our equity agenda.
• Ability to work harmoniously as part of a team.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Marketing and communications skills with a special emphasis on written communication.
• Skillfully represent the organization with well-written thought pieces, proposals, blog posts, etc.
• Data management. Ability to represent our success and growth using CRM data tools.
• Administration and management skills including a proven ability to meet deadlines, problems solve and use resources effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to building and maintaining relationships including funders, business partners, schools, colleagues, individuals, students, and their families
• Ability to authentically engage with middle school students and to inspire them to do their best now and in the future.
• Contribute to Apprentice Learning’s success as a member of the leadership team.
• Can accept and offer feedback with generosity.
