Overview/Position Summary  

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for sharing the story of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell through written, digital and in-person communications. By engaging and motivating our audience, the Community Engagement Manager will support our revenue goals to meet the needs of the organization. As our Club is in a place of growth, we are seeking a dynamic individual who understands multi-channel marketing and is able to convey Club messaging and impact in creative and interesting ways in order to grow our base of supporters and friends. The Community Engagement Manager is an essential part of our Development (fundraising) team.

Responsibilities/Skills and experience relevant to this position:

  • Creative writing skills, along with comfort in producing formal written pieces. Examples of content to be produced includes annual appeal letters, e-newsletters, impact stories, annual report. 
  • Proficient in social media marketing across many platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Tik Tok).
  • Experience updating website content helpful, as the Community Engagement Manager manages our Club website.
  • Comfort with public relations, including acting as a liaison between the Club and public officials, arranging check presentations, writing press releases and other promotional content as needed.
  • Willing to engage with our members, staff and families to gather content for communication pieces.
  • Design skills and familiarity with platforms such as Canva for producing marketing materials, or willingness to learn such skills.
  • Attention to detail, willing to learn and have strong organizational skills. 
  • Interest in working with multicultural teams with diverse constituencies. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. 

Qualifications 

  • Must support Club values. 
  • Passion for storytelling and creating marketing materials.
  • Education: Some college or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations, community building or other relevant skill.

Our Hiring Process and Timeline

  • We will conduct short phone interviews and begin in-person (or video) interviews on July 26, 2021 
  • Ideal start date for selected candidate is September 1st, 2021.
