Children’s Law Center seeks a Program Assistant to support program functions across our projects. The Program Assistant will play a critical role during an exciting period of change at Children’s Law Center as we implement a new case management and reporting system. The Program Assistant will have wide-ranging responsibilities and work with staff at all levels of the organization. This position requires flexibility and willingness to assume varied duties and tasks.


The primary responsibilities of the Program Assistant are: 1) monitor program data and assist in compiling reports, 2) provide program assistance to meet contract and funder deliverables; 3) assist with implementation of evaluation and learning initiatives; 4) provide administrative assistance to programs, including the coordination of the transfer of closed case files. The Program Assistant reports to the Director of Evaluation and Learning.

Requirements and Qualifications

The qualifications, skills, and abilities required for the Program Assistant position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Experience with databases and, in particular, with the manipulation and analysis of data to produce reports.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Able to learn and synthesize information, and then communicate appropriately with needed parties.
  • Excellent attention to detail, efficiency, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong people skills, able to communicate with diverse groups of people both within and outside of the organization.
  • Excellent professional judgment and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Comfortable with training and public speaking assignments
  • Able to manage multiple assignments (and supervisors) while maintaining clear communication regarding assignments and progress.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic self-starter
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Bilingual Spanish fluency required with ability to communicate in person and by phone.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
