Organization Background and Description

Since 1994, Acknowledge Alliance has used the power of fostering resilience to help build positive connections between teachers and students to open the doors to learning and well‐being. The foundation of Acknowledge Alliance started with the belief that when a child has a caring adult in their life who holds high expectations and believes in them, they can succeed despite adversities. Acknowledge Alliance serves K‐12 schools in the San Francisco Bay Area, integrating resilience into all levels of learning by mentoring educators, counseling at‐risk youth, and teaching social emotional learning lessons for the whole classroom.

Acknowledge Alliance is currently staffed by 25 employees with degrees primarily in mental health and has a $2.0 million annual budget. The agency directly serves teachers, key school staff, and youth in 31 schools located in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.

Position Summary and Job Purpose: The CCP Program Director will be responsible for all aspects of CCP program development, management, and implementation. The Program Director will be part of the agency management team and will assist the Executive Director in representing the agency and the program. Additionally, the Program Director will provide input on program and fundraising reports as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, supervise and evaluate CCP Program staff
• Develop and actively maintain relationships with collaborative partners, which may change from time to time. Examples of current partners are Sequoia Union High School District, Peninsula Bridge, Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, Sequoia Healthcare District, The Wright Institute, and the agency’s own Resilience Consultation Program (RCP).
• Secure CCP program funding by negotiating with collaborative partners for schoolyear‐based statements of work, MOUs, and contracts.
• Publish the annual CCP Program evaluation reports; collaborate with and oversee third‐party evaluation consultant (if available); establish appropriate data collection tools, collect data, and help write, edit, and administer impact reports.
• Develop, manage, and maintain positive working relationships with partner graduate schools.
• Work closely with the RCP Program Director on new program development, pilot strategies, and overall implementation of program elements.
• Oversee data collection, research, and evaluation of all aspects of the counseling program, including presentations at conferences and symposia and in publications.
• Participate actively as a Management Team member, contributing to agency planning, oversight, and growth.
• Attend Board meetings, trainings, and other ad hoc meetings, as requested or assigned.
• Maintain on‐going communication with the Executive Director, collaborate closely with other Management Team members.
• Assist the Executive Director on special assignments such as funder and donor‐related meetings and community events.
• Write and present agency work at conferences and for publication.

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Must truly believe, and have experience providing, long‐term, psychodynamic, relational, and attachment theory‐based approaches to therapy.
• Advanced theoretical knowledge and ability to teach it
• Expertise in providing direct mental health services
• Extensive knowledge of child and adolescent development and the implications for service delivery
• Working knowledge of schools and delivery of collaborative services; juvenile justice knowledge a plus
• Experience in supervision and training of clinical staff

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Social Work; Master’s preferred
• Current California state license or commitment to obtain such license within one (1) year of hire date; 2‐year licensure preferred; LCSW preferred but will consider LMFT
• Two ‐ Five years post‐graduate clinical experience including work in a mental health agency or institution

Physical and Environmental Conditions: Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at computer terminals.

On‐Site and Travel Requirements: Requires occasional on‐site meetings with clients partners, and staff , but at a minimum once a quarter for partner meetings and staff retreats, and/or for urgent program matters as required. Out‐of‐town travel more than 100 miles will be at candidate’s expense.

Terms of Employment: This position may be full‐time or part‐time and is an exempt position. This position is eligible to participate in the employee benefits program, which currently include subsidy toward medical and dental insurance, 403b retirement plan, and paid time off (vacation, sick, and holidays.) Starting pay range based on experience, ability, education, and training: $100,880‐$114,400 full‐time ($48.50 ‐ $55.00 per hour)
