Organization Description:


Tides Advocacy (also known as The Advocacy Fund) is a team of political, legal, and financial experts who partner with donors and organizations to fuel campaigns and advocacy work for social justice. We offer the organizational infrastructure and strategic management services to make social change possible for an equitable democracy, environmental sustainability, criminal justice reform, and equality and human rights. We are based in San Francisco and New York.


Position Summary:


We are seeking a writer/content curator for our website and marketing materials as well as blogs and articles. This is a part time contractor role for a 6 month term. This role will require at least 30 hours monthly, with 10 of those hours being on-site meetings and coaching sessions with staff members in San Francisco. We typically establish a contract retainer fee for writing services. Deliverable deadlines will be established in discussion with the contractor and Tides Advocacy staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Serve as the primary content curator and editor for new website (60%)

• Collaborate with staff members to write blogs and articles for newsletter and external media outlets (30%)

• Provide support for case studies, briefs, and reports as well as marketing and business development materials (10%)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


• Ability to work 10 hours monthly on site to collaborate with Tides Advocacy team members and consultants for writing pieces

• Ability to write from a social justice lens with an understanding of racial equity and human rights

• Demonstrated ability to hold information confidential with excellent judgment

• Excellent communication with busy, diverse professionals to fulfill tight deadlines

• Ability to work well on a team in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

• Demonstrated commitment to high quality client service and adaptability to evolving client needs

• Possess a strong work ethic and “can do” attitude


Education & Experience:
