Summary:  The Salesforce Administrator will oversee the management and enhancement of the Salesforce platform at The Center, as well as contribute to the development and rollout of Salesforce-based solutions and integrations. This position is an excellent opportunity for a technologist who is interested in applying analytics and innovation to help further The Center’s work. The ideal candidate has significant experience with Salesforce, and a passion for helping organizations adopt new technologies and tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in projects to improve our use of Salesforce, working with staff and external consultants to implement enhancements to the system;
  • Work with staff across the organization who use Salesforce, providing training and continued support;
  • Work with staff to improve Salesforce to better meet staff needs and streamline processes;
  • Oversee day-to-day activities and operations of a complex, highly integrated Salesforce implementation;
  • Manage user roles, security, profiles, workflow rules, and other configuration options;
  • Establish a consistent and efficient data governance process at The Center, accounting for the full data life cycle - including collection, configuration, storage, analysis and dissemination;
  • Design, implement and refine the suite of quantitative and qualitative tools used to track progress and outcomes against goals;
  • Keep up to date with new Salesforce features and best practices applicable to our industry;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience with Salesforce administration for a large, multifaceted company - ideally with a nonprofit organization;
  • Mastery of the basic Salesforce tools, including roles, profiles, page layouts, creating custom objects, record types, etc.—and exercises good judgement deciding what tool to use;
  • Experience training and supporting non-technical staff in the use of Salesforce;
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with workflows, formula fields, validation rules, custom buttons, etc.;
  • Experience managing the integrations between Salesforce and other systems; 
  • Ability to learn quickly as Salesforce rolls out new features and when using existing features for the first time or in a new way;
  • Proficient with data export/import/use of Excel to facilitate uploads and data transformations as well as migrating data between objects or fields;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as troubleshooting expertise;
  • Certified Administrator or Process Builder Skills are a plus; 
  • A strong understanding of and commitment to social and racial justice and the overall mission of The Center.
