Job Title: Grant and Major Gifts Assistant   Reports To: Chief Development Officer

Community Servings is a non-profit food and nutrition program focused on the nutritional needs of underserved populations across the state. Over the past 30 years, we have delivered over 8.5 million free, scratch-made meals to individuals experiencing chronic and critical illnesses in the context of medical nutrition therapy. Community Servings provides a nutrition intervention to people experiencing critical and chronic illnesses such as Diabetes, Heart Diseases, Kidney Disease, and HIV/AIDS.

The Grants and Major Gifts Assistant will support the robust grants and major gifts fundraising

program and will report to the Chief Development Officer. This role will work closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and the Grants Manager and will be responsible for assisting with recording and acknowledging gifts and grants, developing strategies for donor stewardship and solicitation, conducting donor and grant research and will grow to develop and manage a portfolio of small grants including prospect research, proposal writing, reporting, and related grant administration.

 Major Gifts Program Administration and Support:

·       Works directly with the Chief Development Officer to ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgement and gift processing.

·       Prepares annual The Chef’s Table major donor lists for publication on agency website and in print materials.

·       Attends weekly internal major gifts strategy meetings w/ CEO, CDO and DOD; takes notes and prepares and tracks follow-up activities.

·       Tracks all donor stewardship, solicitation, and outreach activities in SalesForce.

·       Assists in planning, execution and follow-up of donor stewardship and donor cultivation.

Qualifications/Experience:

·       Excellent customer service skills and prior administrative experience is a plus.

·       Excellent telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.

·       Must have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

·       Computer proficiency including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Microsoft

Teams, and Dropbox strongly preferred. Familiar with Salesforce is preferred

·       Strong attention to detail.

·       Able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced office environment.

·       Must have problem solving and decision-making capabilities.

·       Early morning and night meetings at off-site locations may be required.

·       Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.

 Education/Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience or High school diploma and 2-3 years of experience in direct customer service and or sales.
