Municipal Consulting and Affordable Homeowner Support

Metro West CD, a regional community development corporation seeks detail oriented self-starter to join small team of housing development professionals. Our CDC is involved in every facet of affordable housing: development, management, advocacy, public policy, affirmative marketing, eligibility certification and restriction monitoring. We work on our own projects and on behalf of municipalities and private developers. We also facilitate and support regional collaborations, homebuyer training and support and affordable housing advocacy. Specific activities include:

Municipal Consulting

  • Represent Metro West CD at planning and implementation of the MAGIC 6-town affordable housing services contract
  • Within each community review project documents (such as Funding Agreements and Deed Restrictions) to determine project compliance and develop strategies for resolution of problems
  • Write annual compliance reports for participating projects and/or municipality
  • Participate in community education and planning efforts and other activities to promote and preserve affordable housing in our target area
  • Identify opportunities to expand this set of services

40-B Sales and Monitoring – Ownership Projects and Resales

  • Assess opportunities and create proposals for interested developers and lottery agents
  • Review individual applicant files for income and asset eligibility under HOME, LIP/LAU and Chapter 40B or other zoning and financing as necessary
  • Conduct annual monitoring of units and write compliance reports for subsidizing agencies and/or municipality

Supporting Affordable Homeowners

  • Respond to inquires about re-sales, re-finances, capital improvements, and other issues.
  • Author and implement AFHM Plans including advertising, lottery administration and final eligibilities determinations
  • Conduct annual monitoring of units and write annual compliance reports for participating projects and/or municipality
  • Create and provide training and support for affordable unit owners
  • Participate in state-wide initiatives to improve the affordable homebuyer ecosystem

General Community Development

  • Participate in the Mass Association of CDC’s peer learning groups and advocacy initiatives
  • Support Metro West CD’s marketing and outreach efforts
  • Identify and resolve thorny social problems by being creative, resourceful and leveraging the skills and talents of others
