Job Summary

Support the Site Manager in supervision and daily operations of the Job Training & Education Center.


Essential Functions:

Support the Site Manager in coordinating center activities, staff, and facilities.

Directly supervise various center programs and staff.

Responsible for the quality of instruction in assigned programs.

Support the Site Manager in planning and improving operational processes at the center.

Support outreach and recruitment activities and promote program benefits to potential employers, agencies and service providers.

Support the supervision of the volunteer program at the center.

Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to helping students learn.

Coordinate center staff meetings and attend staff meetings at various locations.

Provide regular center reports as required.

Work on special projects and assist with events as needed.

Support community engagement opportunities including (but not limited to): participating in tours, attending community events, speaking to community partners, and engaging volunteers and donors.

Upholds safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field or combination of experience and education.

Experience: Minimum two years teaching/training experience. Experience in a workforce development setting. Minimum 1 year Supervisory experience

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software as needed. Familiar with use of educational technology. Experience and success in simplifying and communicating complex ideas and tasks. Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education. Ability and flexibility to work in an environment with a very diverse group of people.


Essential Physical Abilities:

Able to safely lift/push/ pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, standing for long periods of time. Ability to work in cramped areas/ small spaces. Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing; including those who have limited English skills, large and small groups, and individuals.

Working Conditions:

Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires some travel to other locations for offsite meetings and events.
