The Program Associate for Project Morry is an energetic and hands-on team member. S/he will work directly with senior program managers to implement innovative services for our middle school and high school students including the launch of a new afterschool pilot for our Westchester communities. S/he will be responsible for student and parent outreach, manage a team of tutors, facilitate workshops, and contribute to curriculum development.  Additionally, the program associate will support summer staff recruitment.  This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated individual to play a critical role while developing leadership and professional skills. 

Student and Parent Outreach

  • Perform individual and group outreach to parents and students, via phone calls, emails, and texts. Outreach will be completed prior to and following meetings to ensure consistent attendance and participation. 
  • Email and mail student and family program forms for completion within mandated timeframes via parent online portal or paper. Track outstanding forms and follow up with families as needed. 
  • Update student information in program database (grades, addresses, etc.) as needed. 
  • Identify concerns for individual students or parents and flag for program team follow up.

Meeting Prep and Facilitation

  • Attend and support all program meetings in each of our partner communities and at the Project Morry office including 1 Saturday high school meeting per month. 
  • Attend and support weekly afterschool meetings at our community partner sites in Elmsford and Port Chester. 
  • Responsible for preparation of meeting materials based on weekly curriculum. Ensure all copies, workbooks, school supplies, and any special materials are collected and ready for each meeting.
  • Work with program team to develop meeting activities in support of the curriculum and Project Morry’s mission.  Create content that is creative, engaging, and intentional in achieving curriculum goals.
  • Work with program team to write and create grade appropriate content for monthly newsletters.
  • Work with program staff to facilitate workshops for students in all grades. 
  • Manage a team of 3 tutors for high school afterschool meetings. Responsible for weekly schedule to ensure appropriate staffing of each meeting. Track hours and sign off on timesheets.


Summer Staff Recruitment

  • Working with the program team, post job openings with colleges, recruitment services, websites, etc. Follow up on postings as needed.
  • Screen initial responses for necessary qualifications and skill sets. Share leads with appropriate staff for follow up and interviews. 
  • Attend recruitment fairs as needed.
  • Working with the program team, track completion of necessary documentation for new hires.


  • Experience working with middle school and high school students in a teaching capacity as a camp counselor, tutor, afterschool program, or similar program strongly preferred.
  • An engaging personality capable of energizing students and families about Project Morry’s mission and the new afterschool program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to perform high volume of phone calls, emails, and other outreach always in a professional and patient manner with our communities.
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent follow through and attention to detail. Strong project management skills required. 
  • Flexible team player who is also able to complete work tasks independently.
  • Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish strongly preferred. 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
