FloridaStrong is growing its digital capacity and is looking for a Social Media Manager to bring the powerful stories of everyday Floridians to life, helping to drive narratives to expose the truth about who is looking out for working families. Ideal candidates are excellent writers and capable of using social media platforms in new and creative ways to help deliver high-impact messaging to shape public dialogue. The Social Media Manager will be a creative and unafraid to try out new ideas but able to respond to what the audience wants. 

Job Responsibilities:

●      Design content campaigns and work with the team on strategy

●      Organize and maintain a social media calendar, with posts drafted and scheduled for future publication

●      Run social media accounts for various issue campaigns

●      Manage and grow online communities

●      Craft dynamic, engaging content for social media platforms and blogs

●      Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of digital campaigns

●      Monitor and track performance of posts. Prepare reports, perform analysis and share data as directed

●      Interpret analytic results and adjust strategy as needed

●      Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content

●      Craft nimble, rapid response campaigns; monitor + capitalize on real-time moments online

●      Keep up to date on trends in content optimization strategies, tools, and tactics

●      Work with content creators and producers to support creation of digital first video, graphic and other mobile-first content

●      Review other team members’ content

●      ALL of this is done in a consistent spirit of teamwork, collaboration and innovation

Skills & Qualifications:

●      Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Political Science, Communications or related field is preferred

●      3-4 years of experience in progressive political campaigns or issue advocacy

●      Proven skills on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat, etc

●      Working knowledge of Facebook Business Manager

●      Familiarity with WordPress, online tools like ActionNetwork or NGP VAN, and social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Crowdtangle

●      Excellent written, verbal, and visual skills, with an ability to create high-quality content

●      Creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-directed

●      Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

●      Flexible and has ability to shift gears quickly between multiple campaigns and projects

●      A blend of collaborative skills as well as being an independent self-starter

●      A knowledge of and comfort level with trends and developments in Florida politics, campaigns and advocacy communities is strongly preferred

●      A passion for progressive issues, causes and politics a must
