Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create, students to experience, and audiences to consume epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City.  Since 2007, the Armory has opened its doors to visionary artists, directors, and impresarios who provided extraordinary experiences in a range of art forms.

Job Summary

The Database Manager supports the front-end functioning of the Fundraising and ticketing CRM database (Tessitura). It serves as the primary Tessitura power user and database administrator who provides services to the organization and sets standards for how front-end users store data and interact with the database. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development, but it works closely with all users in Marketing, Box Office, and Finance as well.

Responsibilities

·       Manage users including creating new users, resetting passwords and troubleshooting login/security issues

·       Pull lists for emails, mailings, queries, and analysis questions

·       Provide reports on events and performances, including performance attendance lists among others

·       Process contributions and reconcile monthly fundraising finances with finance department

·       Plan and implement application upgrades of Tessitura in coordination with all departments

·       Troubleshoot, manage ticket creation, escalation and resolution with hosted-services provider for CRM

·       Manage front-of-house point of sale hardware, including ticketing terminals

·       Work closely with Box Office and Marketing Departments to ensure functionality of house builds, promo codes, e-commerce web pages, and other areas

·       Manage Tessitura integrations with third-party e-commerce and e-communications services Work to keep data hygiene at the highest level by detecting errors and correcting them and instituting new procedures to keep data cleaner

·       Import data that updates accounts, tracks progress on solicitations, records event attendance, corrects errors, and many other functions

·       Review potential dupes and merge donor accounts

·       Improve reporting and custom utilities that automate fundraising processes (e.g. acknowledgments, solicitations, renewals)

·       Codify Tessitura procedures and develop training documents for Tessitura

Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years’ experience working with a database

·       Experience with Tessitura a big plus

·       Proficiency with Excel a plus

·       Passion for database hygiene and instilling proper standards of use

·       Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users

·       Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively with various teams

·       A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
