Finance and Grants Manager in downtown Los Angeles

The Immigration Center for Women and Children (ICWC) seeks a full-time Finance and Grants Manager who will be based in its Los Angeles office. ICWC is a non-profit legal organization providing free and affordable immigration services to underrepresented women and children in California and Nevada. ICWC strives to provide security and stability for children who are abused, abandoned, or neglected and for immigrants who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, or other violent crimes. ICWC works with federal immigration laws that allow survivors to apply for work authorization, lawful permanent residency, and citizenship. 

ICWC’s team is recognized nationally for their humanitarian immigration law expertise and for the exceptional legal services they provide to immigrants who are survivors of violent crimes. Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Finance and Grants Manager will work with the Human Resources and Operations Manager and IT and financial consultants to support the Executive Director in running the administrative operations for the organization. This position has been created to centralize and streamline processes, enhance systems, and improve efficiencies. The successful candidate must be highly organized, energetic and flexible to handle multiple assignments in a dynamic environment where immigration policies are regularly shifting. 

The responsibilities include:

Financial Management

  • Manage all AR/AP functions with ICWC accountant and oversee accurate income and expense tracking; 
  • Production of reports of financial data to the Executive Director and Board of Directors;
  • Review and enhance fiscal systems and policies, including cash tracking and reporting procedures;
  • Manage relationship with accountants and auditors, coordinating audit activities and insuring timely and accurate tax filings and financial statements;
  • Support fundraising activities through the development of budgets, and the collection and analysis of data for contract proposals and reports.

Administrative Management

  • Administer organization wide policies and procedures between a dispersed team in 4 cities (LA, SF, SD and LV);
  • Provide support to build organizational service capacity;
  • Partner with IT Consultant to monitor technology needs and to assure technology is being effectively utilized to share data and facilitate processes;
  • Assist ICWC IT consultant and specialized project consultant in migration to cloud fileserver;
  • Assist Executive Director with grant reporting and invoicing;
  • Review and serve as contact for vendor contracts.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of financial and administration management experience (non-profit preferred);
  • Experience in Quickbooks and familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and non-profit accounting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) and cloud fileserver;
  • Familiarity with labor and employment law and practices;
  • Well-developed customer service orientation;
  • Technologically savvy and adept at liaising with ICWC IT staff;
  • Spanish language skills preferred.

Salary

Compensation: Salary is $80,000 + depending on experience.
