Children's Empowerment and Violence Prevention Specialist- Jesuit Volunteer AmeriCorps Member (two positions)

JVC Northwest is seeking applicants for two full-time positions supporting children in domestic violence shelters and programs. Responsibilities include supporting and coordinating children’s program activities; educating parents in positive parenting techniques; organizing support groups and volunteers; and supporting kids to learn and have fun.
Open positions exist in Missoula, Montana and Sitka, Alaska.
Overall, Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest recruits, places, and supports Jesuit Volunteer (JV) AmeriCorps members in a year of full-time service focusing on the values of community, spirituality, simple living, and social and ecological justice. JVs live with 3-7 other volunteers in urban centers and rural communities in the Northwest, are placed in a variety of schools, social services, community health centers, legal clinics, and environmental and public agencies, and serve communities living on the margins of society.
The program year runs August 6, 2018 - July 31, 2019. Applications accepted through July 23. Volunteers must be 21+ with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
