    Description

    Local North Philadelphia nonprofit providing social services to women, girls and families is looking to hire a Resident Services Advisor (RSA) for its senior residential program for previously homeless women age 65 and older. This part-time position (32 hours per week) is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 2pm-to-10pm. (Additional hours are available through on-call assignments). Candidates will serve as a member of a team of RSAs providing intake for clients, as well as, participating in the day-to-day activities of residents, including: recreational, meal-time and light housekeeping. RSAs serve as direct care service providers for all clients from intake to program exit and tend to the individual needs of clients, including replenishing resources and providing ongoing engagement. RSAs provide evidence-based and trauma-informed programming to meet the needs of seniors with complex behaviors. RSAs also cultivate positive relationships by establishing rapport and trust with clients and engage them in activities that build self-confidence and improve relationships and connections within the program.     Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma/GED required. Associates Degree in psychology, education, social work or other human service discipline preferred (B.A. optimum)
    • up to 1 year experience working with populations who have experienced social/emotional life trauma, including activity planning and intake/registration activities (experience in residential setting ideal)
    • Experience working with clients with complex behaviors
    • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed practice, especially the Sanctuary Model.
    • Excellent organizational, record-keeping and communication skills
