Job Summary

The Supervisor of NSP Aftercare Services will provide effective oversight and case management to the Aftercare Specialist, Aftercare Education Specialist, and Lead Mentor in our NSP Aftercare Services by providing quality services in the areas of leadership, supervision, case reviews, progress note reviews, and advocacy for our youth in placement in order to meet and exceed expectations with respect to program goals, quality services, compliance, and best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide effective ongoing weekly supervision feedback to staff who report to Supervisor of NSP Aftercare Services. Maintain documentation of supervision through the completion of supervisory logs.
  • Provide for the ongoing professional development of all supervised staff.
  • Regularly review all progress notes, FASPs, court documentation, education/vocation reports, and other relevant documentation in CONNECTIONS to ensure full compliance and best practices in services provided to NSP youth in aftercare.
  • Oversight of all PYA mandates ensuring that all regulations of ACS’ PYA are upheld.
  • Set high expectations and enforce strict deadlines for staff to ensure excellence in all areas.
  • Attend & Monitor all components of Post Discharge /Red flag meetings including challenges, goals, and actions. Attend all Planning/Red Flag meetings.
  • Collaborate with agency departments to meet program goals and objectives including the HR, Training and QI Departments in the areas of performance management, interviewing, mandated training, professional development, and QI goals.
  • Ensure compliance with the Juvenile Justice PAMS methodology.
  • Develop and submit to APD for Aftercare Services a monthly Tracking Report of FASP Completions, Timely Progress Notes and Completed EMOVS.
  • Maintain a tracking report of all Aftercare referrals.
  • Develop a report on the progress on the youths’ compliance with all services.
  • Support the principles of the ITM Model with the end goal of teaching the young people to make positive, lasting changes in their behavior by preparing them to be self-sufficient through education and work experience.
  • Other related tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • MSW required, LMSW preferred
  • 3 years of experience in the field of child welfare and family services required
  • 2 years of experience as a supervisor in child welfare, or 5 years of stepwise progression
  • Strong knowledge of PYA regulations as per ACS
  • Strong knowledge of city and state education mandates
  • Prior experience in case management of juvenile population
  • Strong knowledge of city, state, and agency regulations and child welfare policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Connections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
