The Foundation for Art & Healing (FAH) is experiencing rapid growth with the launch of new programs to support its signature program, The UnLonely Project. We are pleased to announce an immediate opening of the newly created full-time position, Grants Manager.  


The Grants Manager will play an important role researching, identifying, and securing funding of the foundation’s programs. Specifically, the Grants Manager will develop an efficient and effective work-flow with the Foundation’s President and the Finance and Program Departments. Successful candidates will have a strong record of securing new grant funds from foundations and government agencies, as well as in renewing grant support. This position will also require excellent writing and organizational skills and may be called to draft program descriptions and general overviews for a range of FAH’s programs, including the UnLonely Film Festival..


The Grants Manager will report to the President and will be part of a small but dynamic team spearheaded by the Foundation’s President. 


In addition to superlative writing skills, we are looking for somebody who has strong project management, relationship building, communication, and organizational skills and will be comfortable working directly with client organizations and serving as a representative of the foundation. Additionally, this person should have team spirit and be willing to jump in as needed as new programs and projects are created.


The position is New York City based, with in-person meetings in New York City as well as flexibility to work remotely via Zoom calls. 


An interest in creative arts, community health, and healing will greatly impact your success in this role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective foundation funders;
  • Manage the tracking of grants requirements and deadlines;
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process;
  • Perform regular and relevant research in government funding sources to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results;
  •  
  • Ensure relevant staff are informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of financial or budget plans in collaboration with FAH’s Finance department;
  • Provide detailed reports to FAH President and the board of directors with respect to the organization's potential prospects
  • Dedicate 20-25% of their time to assist the FAH President in the tracking and solicitation of individual and corporate donors.
  • Help to organize special events as needed.


The responsibilities will grow depending on the experience and skills of the applicant.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience securing new foundation and government support through grantwriting; paired with grant portfolio management
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  • Possess strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and presentation skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite and G-Suite, and ease with online environments and online communication
  • Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities
  • Experience in developing and monitoring budgets and cross-checking financial reporting
  • A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under under pressure
