La Colaborativa is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that began serving the community of Chelsea, MA in 1988. Since its inception, the mission of the organization remains the same: to empower Latinx immigrants to bring about social, environmental and economic justice in their own lives and our community. With a rapidly growing team, La Colaborativa is committed to expanding services to respond to the growing needs of our community. Innovative programs are currently offered to address widespread food insecurity, increase access to financial independence and economic mobility, and improve housing stability for more families. Programs serve teens and adults, with a focus on the large and growing Latinx immigrant community in Chelsea and surrounding areas.

La Colaborativa has emerged as a leader in the region responding to the many inequities exacerbated by the pandemic in 2020-21. All departments have expanded dramatically over the last 12 months and the organization has been able to match fundraising efforts to support these expansions to date. As the organization rapidly scales, we are looking to bring on an experienced Marketing & Grants Manager to support aggressive strategic fundraising and marketing plans.

A successful candidate for the role will be an experienced grants researcher, writer, cultivator, and reporter. He/she will lead by example, roll-up one’s sleeves, dive-in, and produce resultsdeveloping meaningful funding relationships with new and existing foundations. The Marketing & Grants Manager will meet current fundraising goals while making time to raise awareness of our work with broader audiences and strategically grow the overall effectiveness and depth of La Colaborativa’s grant strategy that improves organizational sustainability over the long-term. Bringing an entrepreneurial attitude, creativity, and a growth mindset are expected and highly encouraged.

Candidate Profile

Top candidates should demonstrate:

• A passion for social causes and a proven track record of meeting deadlines

• Experience working with immigrant communities and communities of color

• Extremely organized with an independent working style

• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and interface effectively with all levels of the organization

• Project management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with extensive professional experience writing and submitting grants and communicating directly with funders

• Strong, operational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, be a team player, manage multiple projects and possess a strong knowledge of diversity metrics and analytics.
