OBJECTIVE
Flavors from Afar is seeking a Program Assistant to work with our growing social enterprise restaurant based in Little Ethiopia, Los Angeles. This candidate is to ensure the success of our sales flow, and able to manage outreach under budget. Must be detail oriented, available 4 days a week, and great at multi-tasking. Our Program Assistant will be responsible for handling correspondence with dine-in customers and communicating with other departments within the organization to keep our unique customer experience on track.
The Program Assistant’s responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness + appearance of the restaurant, generating unique sales plans, creating engaging customer rewards, supporting with newsletters, and restaurant outreach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tasks required of our Program Assistant vary by factors such as customer flow for the day and projects led by our Program Manager, Christian Davis. Candidate should be prepared to do the following:
Oversee Activities
From the design of our restaurant to where company literature will be placed, the Program Assistant has their hands on just about anything that relates to customer experience. They also play a vital role in attracting customers and maintaining our current loyal base.
Customer Loyalty
The main intention of the Program Assistant is to build the restaurant’s customer base by way of ensuring revisits. They may, for example, supply the team with data on customers and products that sell quickly. Program Assistant will prioritize knowledge of all menu items and products sold by Flavors from Afar.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
The Program Assistant will interact with a range of people while performing their job, so outstanding interpersonal skills serves them well. Candidate must be an excellent verbal and written communicator who knows how to present information in ways others can understand clearly.
Other skills critical to success include:
Personable – ability to make strangers comfortable and feel at home.
Data analysis – sales and marketing coordinators should be comfortable inputting and interpreting data in order to draw sensible conclusions.
Salesmanship – ability to lead to a positive impression of the company boosts profits.
Organization skills – managing the efforts of multiple people and departments to achieve desired results requires staying on top of things and collaborating extensively.
Problem-solving skills – critical examination helps sales and marketing coordinators pinpoint reasons behind situations, such as why sales totals were less than predicted or why an internet campaign isn’t drawing sufficient traffic.
