Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and other children with complex medical issues and their families in a strong, supportive, and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems


Role Briefing

We are seeking a Director of Healthcare Experience to be responsible for leading Business Development efforts and value-based care strategy for expansion of new products into managed care and hospital markets. You will develop and maintain the contract development strategy and execution in collaboration with executives and healthcare professionals. You will leverage internal and external relationships to cultivate and grow new business while working closely with the President & CEO.

What You’ll Do

·        Create the strategic direction of RMH-NY’s value-based purchasing (VBP) models

·        Explore new revenue streams and identify opportunities to expand and diversify current existing models

·        Implement and oversee daily operations of new value-based care programs (primarily external to the physical HQ location)

·        Build market position by locating, developing, and defining business relationships with potential network partners

·        Align, coordinate, and design programs, policies, education and other staff development initiatives to ultimately improve the patient experience and promote patient and family centeredness

·        Evaluate the impact of organizational decisions that affect the experience of our patients and families


What You Bring

·        7 or more years of administrative analysis, guest relations, patient experience, patient satisfaction or similar hospital or healthcare operations experience

·        Deep experience in managing payer and specifically Medicaid policies and programs, and knowledge of child access programs.

·        Expertise in business development and contract development with value-based care purchasing and healthcare innovation products.

·        Ability to collaborate across departments and influence to drive impact across numerous partnerships.

·        Deep experience with change management and implementing cross-cutting initiatives.

·        Proven track record of using creativity to try new approaches to improve customer service, bringing fresh perspectives and an open mind, encouraging innovation at all levels of the organization

·        Demonstrated leadership skills to influence change and drive an action plan forward

·        Effective oral/written communication and customer service skills required.

·        Strong time management skills (follow-up, follow-through, meeting deadlines) for self and ensuring accountability for the team

·        Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Health Care, Business and licensure in Social Work is preferred.

Important to Know

·        This is a newly created role that was developed to meet the demands of our growing organization. This position will supervise team members also in newly created roles.

·        Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, employees are allowed to work remotely at this time. But all staff are headquartered at our Manhattan facility and expected to work on-site when requested.

·        We have taken a proactive approach to providing personnel with a safe working environment with PPE, sanitation supplies, frequent cleaning cycles, and the ability to work while socially distancing.

·        Our offices are in the same facility with the families we serve. The sound of children and families is a frequent occurrence. Some children are undergoing radioactive treatment, but most personnel have little to no exposure to waste.
