Who We Are: 

The Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition is the only non-profit organization in the Washington, D.C. area focused exclusively on providing legal assistance to the adult and children immigrants detained by the government in the Capital Region. 

Position Summary: 

The Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition seeks a part-time Operations Associate. The Operations Associate reports to the Operations Manager and works with them to address all IT, Finance, and staff resources for the organization.  This position will require some weekly in-office hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, in accordance with all CAIR Coalition safety protocols.  

General Duties and Responsibilities1: 

IT 

  • Oversee all IT needs for the office; serve as first-line for troubleshooting when IT issues arise.
  • Maintains stock lists for IT equipment for the organization.
  • Process IT supply orders. 
  • Manages the IT setup for new-hires and staff leaving the organization.   
  • Contact vendors regarding upkeep and maintenance of the office's phone, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment.

Finance

  • Invoice entry in bill.com.
  • Reconciles monthly expenses for the corporate card.
  • Contact vendors for W-9, invoice corrections, and bill.com setup.
  • Assist with the annual audit.

What Else You Should Know:

  • This position requires some travel to D.C. and/or Baltimore office for mail or IT purposes.
  • You must be available to work on Tuesday and Wednesday. The third workday is flexible, but this may change depending on needs.
  • This position requires you to work 20hrs per week. During busy periods you may be asked to work up to 30hrs per week.
  • This is a temporary position.
  • Hourly pay for this position is $19.23

Administrative

The employee ensures that all administrative aspects of their position are carried out without managerial intervention, including timekeeping, file upkeep, database upkeep, etc.


Requirements 

  • High school diploma required. 
  • Drivers license required. 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills. 
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and maintain deadlines. 
  • Strong desire to contribute to a team environment. 
  • Self Motivated. 
  • Ability to pass a government background check required.
