Development Director - Northern Nevada

What you would do:  Reporting to SONV’s Executive Director and based in Northern Nevada, this position will have the following Essential Responsibilities:

·      Formulate a development strategy.

·      Identify and secure corporate partners, individual donors and foundations to financially support the organization’s governance, programs and events.

·      Grow, manage and support SONV’s partnership with local law enforcement agencies that participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), which fundraises on behalf of SONV, participates in athlete recognition opportunities and helps expand awareness of our movement.

·      Provide support with our grant writing process

·      Assist as needed with our Community Sports Program by working directly with athletes and engaging in event logistics. 

 

You might be a good fit for this job if you have:

·      A passion for our movement of inclusion for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

·      A proven track record in donor solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship.   

·      Experience working with volunteers and people with disabilities.

·      Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce and PowerPoint

·       Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities to meet objectives and deadlines. Discretion and independent judgment and are a resourceful problem solver.

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong networking and presentation skills.

·      Schedule flexibility, including the ability to work occasional nights and weekends based on Development events.

·      A bachelor’s degree (and/or a minimum of 5 years nonprofit development experience)

DOE - Salary Range available upon request - this is an exempt position.

Level of Language Proficiency

No language or specific education requirement, but Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent work experience strongly preferred. Masters degree a plus.
