Administrative and Fundraising Director

FAIR, the progressive media watch group, seeks an Administrative and Fundraising Director to manage all administrative and fundraising functions of our small nonprofit collective, including bookkeeping, business administration, grant writing and social media promotion. 

Responsibilities:

Finance & Administration

• Oversee budget
• Run biweekly payroll
• Organize monthly reconciliation and yearly audit
• Communicate with vendors, write checks, oversee Paypal account
• Manage tax matters, health and office insurance policies
• Oversee main email account

Fundraising

• Write grant proposals and reports; seek out new grant opportunities
• Write and execute online appeals
• Maintain relationships with existing donors, funders and foundations
• Initiate relationships with new donors, funders and foundations
• Develop, manage and implement social media strategy; work to grow FAIR's email and print subscriber list

Qualifications:

• Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including written and oral communication
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Experience with successful grant writing, and subscriber and donor management
• Social media savvy and vision
• Knowledge of accounting preferred
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to progressive media activism

Compensation: Starting salary $50,000/year, plus comprehensive benefits

Position is based in New York City, but will operate remotely until further notice.
