About Philly Thrive
Through our organizing, Philly Thrive won the permanent closure of the PES oil refinery and an end to 154 years of pollution. Our current campaign contests for justice in the historic refinery site redevelopment – together we’re organizing to win a complete cleanup of the site and robust reinvestment in our neighborhoods. Philly Thrive also runs community support programs including a youth summer camp, a gun violence healing circle, a women’s support circle and a weekly food box delivery. We will continue to build people-power until everyone has a Right to Breathe, free from pollution, oppression, and a violent economy. Philly Thrive is a member-led organization and the staff support members in their leadership development while also back-ending key pieces of work.
Job Description:
Philly Thrive is looking for an experienced Co- Director to support sustainable organization- building and the stewardship of our rapidly growing organization. Philly Thrive has grown from three to nine staff in a short period of time and needs an experienced leader to support and develop staff to develop the leadership of members and make day-to-day decisions to move the organization forward. The Co-Director is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and synergy of Philly Thrive’s base building, campaign and policy work, community support programs, staff accountability and supporting the ongoing development of the member-led Board.
