The Product Development Coordinator is an integral support role focused on moving a core product vision and development process forward through various and multiple stages, from inception to completion. This role is primarily responsible for coordinating efforts to produce online courses, material resources, and other learning collateral that supports our mission to bring healing, growth, and transformation to the life of each person who engages our content. It is a role dedicated to supporting and linking teams throughout the production lifecycle, and contributes to each project in a key administrative capacity to ensure the creation of excellent materials and a compelling user experience.

Essential Functions

The Product Development Coordinator is responsible to:

  • Take an established idea from the Product Team and lead efforts from the initial planning phase all the way through to completion by coordinating and supporting the necessary teams, meetings, materials, and resources required to create the product
  • Create and manage production timelines and identify accompanying tasks and milestones for each contributor involved in the product development
  • Gain a thorough working knowledge of Teachable online course platform in order to act as primary course content loader
  • Hold the vision of the product in mind to assess each phase of production for quality, accuracy, functional user experience, and adherence to the overall goal and purpose of the product. Identify issues or potential misalignments and work collaboratively with the production team to resolve and revise as needed
  • Provide structure and accountability to teams and individuals in order to meet completion date goals
  • Steward communication and serve as the central point of reference and knowledge related to the overall production timeline and needs
  • Provide timely reporting to the Director of Programs & Product Development on each project’s status including needs, roadblocks, or shifts required throughout the production lifecycle 
  • Organize surveys, focus groups, and test user groups to identify product design needs and ensure alignment with audience needs and user experience
  • Research design, functionality, and user experience ideas and features for online courses and other learning materials
  • Secure bids and work with vendors as needed to outsource various aspects of projects, such as video production or motion graphics
  • Act as production assistant and provide administrative support for video and audio production projects
  • Handle day to day miscellaneous administrative tasks including expense reports, invoices, follow up with the accounting department, follow up emails to vendors, and any other logistics duties
  • Adhere to established budget to complete each project
  • Support additional organizational strategies and complete other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 1-3 years experience in previous administrative support role with project management skills and experience working in teaching/training environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of project management tools
  • Knowledgeable understanding of and alignment with The Allender Center’s content and mission
  • Excellent organizational and project-sequencing skills
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with varying timelines and needs at once, see the whole, anticipate roadblocks, and plan ahead
  • Enjoys multi-tasking and managing many details, timelines, and moving parts to complete complex projects
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self starter who can take initiative and work independently
  • Able to lead and work collaboratively with teams to meet collective goals and deadlines, and maintain strong relationships across the organization
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to provide concise and effective communication in person and in written form
  • Highly personable with capacity to coordinate, support, and encourage cross-functional teams and individuals to complete project requirements in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate proficiency with office materials and G Suite
