Job summary:

The Navigators will be responsible for operating a coordinated entry system in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico for use by homeless adults and youth and agencies that serve homeless people. The Navigators will be based in Santa Fe with occasional travel to participating agencies in other parts of New Mexico once it is safe to travel. There are four positions open to build our seven-person team.


Job Responsibilities:

• Outreach to homeless people and assess their needs for housing using a common assessment tool.

• Help homeless people obtain the documentation needed to obtain subsidized housing

• Train staff at agencies that serve homeless people in the use of the system in person and by phone

• Provide technical assistance by phone to service providers using the coordinated entry system

• Participate in case conferencing meetings to help connect homeless clients to housing providers

• Enter data collected from the Coordinated Entry common assessment tool into the HMIS database and check data for accuracy.

• Maintain a case load of participants looking for housing


Full time:

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5 or as arranged with supervisor


Qualifications:

• High school diploma (College degree a plus)

• At least 2 year's experience in human services

• Must be proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office

• Possess an understanding of and practice cultural sensitivity

• Reliable transportation and proof of a valid and current New Mexico Driver's License and current insurance along with a clean MVD record required

• Must we willing to undergo a background check
