Reports to: Louisville Association for Community Economics (LACE) Co-Executive Directors


  • Recruit owners of the Louisville Community Grocery to reach our 2,000 owner goal with a focus on residents in West Louisville, Old Louisville and Smoketown.
  • Promote an upbeat and celebratory campaign
  • Build strong community collaborations and effective partnerships through one on one contacts, events, collaborative activities, and speaking engagements
  • Represent the Louisville Community Grocery and LACE at events & meetings
  • Coordinate interns and volunteers supporting the Ownership campaign
  • Provide weekly co-Executive Directors and monthly reports to LACE/LCG Boards
  • Promote LCG's work in our monthly newsletter
  • Manage social media engagement, including creating content, checking messages and encouraging volunteer engagement on our various media
  • Assist in preparing print material and other items needed for the campaign
  • Act as the database administrator for both LACE and LCG
  • Maintain contacts database of prospective owners, and update this weekly
  • Ensure owner and other pertinent data are accurate and accessible
  • Produce regular, clear reports on the progress and demographics of the ownership campaign
  • Attend relevant committee meetings. 
  • Conduct quarterly performance evaluations of community volunteers.
  • Produce monthly reports of ownership and outreach activity and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Represent the organization as needed at community events and networking groups
  • Lead the Pop-Up Grocery Market program and develop an informed and community-focused plan for service delivery
  • Manage corporate partners volunteer rotation for events
  • Build referral partnerships with social service agencies, service providers and congregations to identify prospective volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned


Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Gerontology, IT, Public Health, or Volunteer Management

1-2 years of experience managing program implementation.

1-2 years of experience in community outreach, community mobilization or organizational capacity building projects/initiatives.

Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable vehicle, good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.

Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required for the job.

Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products, Google suite and; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn the Salesforce and volunteer management system

Demonstrated success managing volunteer-led community education programs and support groups, with experience in recruitment, training, engagement, supervision and evaluation of volunteers

Demonstrated success working on a team to identify, create and launch strategic partnerships

Demonstrated success working with diverse populations, volunteers, staff, and external contacts to build and maintain successful teams

Ability to anticipate, identify, organize and/or analyze growth opportunities and make programmatic recommendations to Executive Directors

Ability to coach and develop volunteer talent.

Strong communication skills in person, print, and electronically 

Proficient at time management.
