Development and Communications Associate

The Development & Communications Associate is a full time, non-exempt position at Real Change reporting to the Development Manager. This position is expected to have a meticulous attention to detail. This position will coordinate activities related to reaching development revenue goals including grants, individual and foundation giving, and events. This position will create and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to increase visibility and awareness of Real Change.

Primary roles and responsibilities:

Development (50%)

• Expand our donor base through donor development, mailings and on-line giving
• Manage Raiser’s Edge database through data entry and processing, report generation, and data analysis
• Assist implementing fundraising campaigns (fund drives, events, etc.) including coordinating bulk mailings
• Design and manage peer to peer fundraising pages and other recruitment tools
• Draft and edit donor correspondences
• Serve as an ambassador in the community at public events
• Coordinate fundraising events in conjunction with other staff
• Research and cultivate a broadened base of sponsors, foundations, grants and other donor opportunities

Communications (45%)

• Create compelling social media content for multiple platforms, highlighting work across the organization
• Manage mailing lists and email correspondence including producing a monthly email newsletters
• Track, analyze, and report metrics and user interactions across social media platforms
• Actively participate in department meetings and events to develop content around all Real Change activities and projects
• Update and maintain the website to stay current with ongoing Real Change events, programs, and fundraising campaigns
• Ensure communications tone and content is rooted in Real Change mission and values
• Manage Google ad words and other communications or marketing campaigns as assigned

Other (5%)

• Assist with truck unload on Wednesday mornings, and in the Vendor Center as needed
• Participate in regular staff meetings, trainings and committee meetings
• Participate in Strategic Plan workgroup
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience with fundraising
• Experience with content writing and graphic design for all media platforms
• Experience with CRM databases and data management
• Strong oral and written communication
• Event planning
• Attention to detail 

Compensation: Salary range is $22.00 - $22.44/hour. Benefit package includes Health and Dental coverage, generous PTO - 3 weeks’ vacation, 2 weeks’ sick, 10 holidays, 403(b) Retirement Fund with a 4% Real Change contribution, flexible work schedule and professional development funds.
