Madeira is seeking a temporary Office Manager for the Summer Programs Office. The Madeira School is one of the country's premier girls boarding/day schools with a century of serving the needs of a wide variety of young women from around the country and the world. Located just outside of Washington, DC, on the banks of the Potomac River, in McLean, VA, Madeira enrolls 320 students in grades 9-12.


Responsibilities include:


·        Provides prompt and respectful communication in response to telephone and email inquiries; ensures follow up correspondence with camp families and prospective families

·        Assists with new and returning counselor paperwork, including background checks

·        Configures, updates and generates reports in camp database

·        Updates and maintains parent portal website

·        Assists in ordering camp supplies and equipment; arranges for distribution

·        Coordinates camper forms with families and appropriate internal departments; ensure forms are complete and timely

·        Creates camper files

·        Provides general administrative support to the Summer Programs office


·        Bachelor’s degree

·        2-5 years of administrative experience

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail; demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion

·        Strong customer service orientation

·        Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database systems (familiarity with CampBrain a plus); willingness and ability to learn additional applications/databases as needed

·        Ability to be a practitioner of diversity, equity and inclusion
