Our Client: Our client is a 17-year-old male currently residing in Orleans. Living with ADHD, anxiety, a learning disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder, our client requires assistance developing his language processing and communication skills, as well as  emotional regulation, and working on his cognitive flexibility. Our client enjoys sports, linguistics, electronics and dancing.


The ideal caregiver will be interested in being active and supportive of our client - getting right in there with him when he is playing sports. You would be a great match with this client if you are calm and have experience working with young adults with special needs. 

 

Hours: 


Tuesdays from 5:30pm-8:30pm

Thursdays from 5:30pm-8:30pm


Rate of Pay: $18 / hour plus compensation for mileage

 

Start Date: May 29th

 

The Role

 

Spark is looking to hire motivated, dedicated, and experienced Child and Youth Support Workers. In this role, you’ll be working with children and youth in the community living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, varying mental illnesses, and behavioural challenges.

 

Care is tailored to each person, so each position is unique. Some clients need mainly in-home support. Others require support participating in community activities. Whatever the circumstances, we want people who will genuinely care about their wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Valid First Aid and CPR level C certification


  • Smartphone with a data plan


  • Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months)


  • Experience working with individuals with ASD and/or mental health challenges


  • Access to a vehicle to transport clients to and from activities in the community.


  • CPI and/or NVCI training


  • University or College education in a related field
